Adidas Humanities for Sneakers

Pharrell Williams is a popular singer song writer, but also known as a fashion icon. From rocking the craziest outfits to the most peculiar color schemes he always knows how to stunt on the red carpet. His most popular songs would be “Happy” or being featured in Robin Thicke’s one hit wonder, “Blurred Lines”. More likely than not you have heard of Pharrell Williams.

In 2014 Pharrell Williams signed a contract with Adidas. Two years following after many collaborations of “Stan Smiths” and “Superstars” Pharrell finally received his very own shoe. You may be thinking “I thought only Kanye was the reason Adidas was big”, well you are wrong. Pharrell Williams first pair of his signature shoe called the “Adidas PW NMD Human Race” released on July 22nd 2016 and it was an immediate hit. Selling out as fast as the Yeezy’s, the Pikachu yellow upper was bright and hard to miss. Later that year on September 29th Adidas released a Human Race pack that included five different pairs. Black, Green, Blue, Red, and Tangerine. Again these did not last long.

After getting a chance to pick up three different pairs of the “Human Race NMDs” it is easy to tell Adidas did something right with this collaboration. The sock like prime knit upper is comfy and thick enough to keep your feet warm, the subtle cage like system keeps your feet locked in place with a unique lacing system that allows endless possibilities. A signature boost midsole rounds out the shoe with everlasting comfort for long days on your feet. The sharp colour of the shoe along with the accents of the PW and Adidas Trefoil logos on the heal are pleasing to the eye. All of these things, help to make Pharrell Williams signature shoe a for sure must have.

Pharrell to this day has still been keeping fans of his sneaker’s on our toes with constant posts of Friends & Family pairs of his signature “Human Race NMD” from colors of burgundy, pink, white, grey and a baby blue. Everyone is still waiting for another pair to release worldwide.

It seems like Adidas has been running the shoe game the past year and some change due to major contributors like Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, and new NBA players that have joined the team which bring hype and limitedness to the brand. Pharrell Williams is also bringing a message through these shoes which has an impact on the culture and media, be sure to stay on the lookout for what Pharrell is wearing or posting about next and definitely do not sleep on his next release.
